June Meeting Wrap up

What a fun meeting we had showcasing some of our first quilts.  What great stories attached to our quilting journey.  Photos will be up soon on our Facebook page.  Feel free to add your story to your photo when I get them up.

We have a quick challenge due at the July meeting UFO Challenge!  Finish one UFO project between now and July 18 (our next meeting date), there will be a door prize drawing for everyone who participates.  If you weren't at the meeting you can still sign up by commenting here, you must indicate exactly which UFO you will complete.  (Please note your comment won't appear automatically, the comments are moderated).  We will leave the sign ups open for a few days, so join in if you need the push of a prize to finish an older project!

Carolyn Dixon is coordinating our Charity Quilt for the Modern Quilt Guild, you can still participate, contact either Carolyn or Mary Menzer, and we will add you to the group.  This is an improv with purpose project, so there are guidelines we are to follow.  After QuiltCon 2016, the quilt will be returned to our guild to donate where we chose.

Sign ups are still open for our sewing retreat, information can be found Here sign ups will close August 31, 2015 so that we may have a final count for door prizes, swag bags (yes we will have swag!) and other fun surprises.  We hope you will be joining us!  You do not have to stay at the hotel, you can set up and sew, and return home each night!

We have had several new members the last few meetings:
Welcome
Nancy Glover
Kathy Poston
Peggy Jebavy (returning member)
Brenda Riggs

Wonderful to see our group growing!

This months Member Bee Block was for Shelley Brooks and July will be Elizabeth Milholen.  By the way, Elizabeth wore a gorgeous maxi dress to the meeting that she had handmade!  Yay for handmade!

Check our blog pages for other information on swaps, challenges, and charities.

Our June 20th meeting is right around the corner!
We are now meeting on the third Saturday of the month at St. John's Baptist Church on Holland Rd.  Please go to the small church building in the back of the complex.  The building is the original white church and you enter with the stairs at the very back.

Bring one of the first quilts you made to this meeting.  Won't it be fun to see how your quilting has changed and grown over the years?  I know mine has and my first top is quite embarrassing!  But I know it tells me that I have become a better a quilter in the years since.

Bring any new show and tell you may have been working on.

Sign ups are still open for our guild sewing retreat in November and you can find more detailed information here
