June Agenda

Saturday, June 17, from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm
  • Sew Day! Bring your sewing machine (don't forget an extension cord), cutting supplies and whatever project you are working on.
  • Kelley will be instructing a workshop on cathedral windows.
    • If you will be participating, please bring the following:
      • 41-5" charm squares
        • 20 of them will be the window "frames" - they don't have to match, but I recommend something that contrasts somewhat with their "windows"
        • 21 of them will be the "windows"
      • 24" square of batting
      • 24" square of backing
        • this method uses a QAYG technique, so the backing and batting is pretty well essential
      • Pins - **highly recommended** - I don't usually pin while I'm piecing, but pinning is definitely beneficial with this method.
    • Also, the first step is to fold and press the 20 "frame" squares on the diagonal (corner to corner) into triangles.  It would be a good idea to do this step ahead of time. :)
    • This is from a Missouri Star Quilt Co tutorial. For more information, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akKU0zg-qaw.
  • Logo Bag - we passed our logo fabric and zippers last month. This would be a great time to work on a bag!
  • Potluck lunch - we don't have access to the kitchen, so bring something that doesn't need to be heated up or can stay warm in a crock pot.

Hope you see you there!
